• 1/4 cup raw cashews
  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 1 heaping tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • less than a pinch cayenne (optional; be really careful with the amount)

There is nothing more delicious than a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter day. Cashew milk is an unexpectedly delicious substitute for regular milk. It also has the added benefit of having less sodium, more fiber, vitamins and minerals than regular milk.  Try this a super easy recipe.

First, blend the raw cashews and the water for about a minute. You’ll get a milky white liquid.

Cashew Milk

Add the remaining ingredients: cocoa powder, cinnamon, honey, vanilla, cayenne. Make sure all the ingredients are well mixed.

Cook on a medium-low flame for about 3-4 minutes. You just want to heat it up so it’s hot when you serve.  Don’t let it boil or the beverage will thicken up.

Hot Cocoa.
