I have been waiting for heirloom tomatoes for weeks… but someone finally had them at the farmer’s market this morning. If you haven’t tried heirloom tomatoes before, they are sweet, juicy and much more flavorful than the tomatoes we buy in the supermarket. This is because heirlooms haven’t been cross-bread so much to last longer on the shelves.  I also found purple basil, which is very similar in flavor to its green variant. I decided to try it.

This combo will make a delicious summer salad!
