• 1 green apple (or any other apple)
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 6 kale stalks
  • 2 cucumbers

Juicing can be a great source of energy early in the morning. The ingredients in this juice work really well because it is packed with vitamins and yet the flavor is not overly sweet.

The first step of juicing is to thoroughly wash and rinse your fruits and vegetables. What I like to do is to immerse them in a bowl with filtered water and a couple tablespoons of vinegar for about 15 min. Then I scrub them, one by one. If I didn’t have a chance  to buy my apples from from a farmer’s market (my preference), I will peel them as my supermarket waxes their apples.

You can wash your vegetables the night before if you wish – however if you are going to peel anything, do that minutes before juicing so it doesn’t darken or lose vitamins. When storing pre-washed vegetables in the fridge, make sure they are dry before putting them in a container with a lid – so they will be better preserved for the next day.

Note – if you are experiencing a flare, you will likely do better with cooked fruits and vegetables. Choose juicing when you’ve been in remission.
