- 3 packs of the frozen fruit of your preference
- Honey to taste (I used 3 tbsp)
I had frozen fruit in my fridge and decided to make jam. If want to enjoy a delicious jam with no sugar and no preservatives, this easy recipe is for you. You can use it in a peanut butter and jam sandwich made with homemade bread or as a filling for hamentashen.
Place the contents in a pan and let it sit on a medium-low flame. I use a non-stick pan, which allows me to not have to watch the pan every 5 minutes. If you prefer to use a pan that isn’t non-stick, it is also doable, but you’ll need to stir more frequently. Note: Even if your fruit is a bit freezer burned like mine below, it still makes a great jam!
25 minutes later the ice broke down significantly. Stir it a bit, break any big pieces of ice and set the temperature to low.
Another 20 minutes (45 minutes in) and the fruit starts to really cook. Stir it a bit more and let the flame do its work.
After 25 minutes (70 minutes in), the jam starts to bubble. If I had left it any longer, it would have burnt. Make sure you keep stirring so it doesn’t burn.
Another 20 minutes (90 minutes in), and you have jam! Add 3 tablespoons of honey and stir.
